I know it’s a cliché, but after 20 years in the mortgage business I still get a buzz from helping people realise their property aspirations. It might be a young couple taking those tentative steps into first home ownership or people looking to secure their financial future through rental property.
And when you’ve been around for as long as I have, you find yourself in a position where clients come back for mortgage advice when buying their 2nd, 3rd or even 4th homes! I’ve also had the pleasure of helping investors build a wide portfolio of rental property.
I guess the reason clients have remained loyal is that I enjoy building long term relationships and I’ve committed to being a mortgage broker ‘for the long haul’. That’s in stark contrast with the typically rapid turnover of bank staff and their reluctance to give useful mortgage advice and personal service.
I have a degree in Science & Economics from Massey University. I have also lectured in banking at Unitec and am involved in running an annual training program for members of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. I am a member of the NZMBA as well.
When not at work I am spending time with Juli my wife of 20 years and my 2 sons at home in Meadowbank. Read Dave’s disclosure statement.
